On Friday, July 4, the Russian army attacked Kryvyi Rih. A large fire broke out in the city. There were electricity shortcuts and victims.

What Russia used to attack

The first explosions in Kryvyi Rih occurred around 10:45 am (Kyiv time). The Ukrainian Air Force reported the threat of using attack drones in the city.

Later, explosions were heard several times in Kryvyi Rih, including at 11:35 am. Then the AFU warned about the threat of air weapons against the city.

Monitoring groups wrote that Kryvyi Rih could have been attacked with a guided bomb from a plane that flew close to the front line.

Updated. The East Air Command clarified that at around 11:25 a.m., an air target fired from an enemy tactical aircraft, probably a Su-34, was spotted in the airspace of the temporarily occupied territory of the Zaporizhzhia region.

The target flew over 100 kilometers and landed near the city of Kryvyi Rih at 11:38 a.m. The type of the target will be determined after examining the wreckage.

Consequences of the strike

The head of the Dnipro Regional Military Administration, Serhii Lysak, said that the enemy had hit Kryvyi Rih with drones. A fire broke out in the city.

The head of the city's Defense Council, Oleksandr Vilkul, said that the attack hit civilian infrastructure.

"A hit on a civilian infrastructure facility. There is a big fire," Vilkul said.

Local media reports power outages in Kryvyi Rih. The city's tram has stopped. The authorities promise to restore the transportation in a few hours.

Updated. Trolleybus traffic in the city has resumed.

The injured

Initially, the head of the Dnipro Regional Military Administration wrote on social media that two people were injured in the strike on Kryvyi Rih. Later, however, Vilkul said that as of noon, there were three wounded in the city, and their condition was not serious.

Updated. There are already six injured in Kryvyi Rih, according to the head of the city's Defense Council.

The State Emergency Service reported that two rescuers were among the six injured. Four fire and rescue vehicles were damaged.

“Upon the arrival of the rescuers at the site of the shelling, the enemy struck again, causing two rescuers to be injured,” the statement said.

Attack on Ukraine on July 4

On the night of July 4, Russia launched a massive attack on Ukraine, firing 539 drones and 11 missiles, including 330 Shahed kamikaze drones. This is the largest number of Shaheds ever used in a single attack.

The main target of the attack was Kyiv. In the capital, hits were recorded in six districts, and more than 20 people were injured. Poland reported that the consulate in Kyiv was damaged.
