Kremlin signals possible meeting between Putin, Trump and Xi Jinping

The upcoming APEC summit in China could bring Russian President Vladimir Putin, US President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping to the same table. Moscow is already discussing the possibility of such a meeting, according to a statement by Putin's aide Yuri Ushakov to journalist Pavel Zarubin for the Vesti news service.
According to Ushakov, Putin and Xi Jinping discussed the possibility of talks involving the leaders of Russia, the US and China during their meeting at the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit in Bishkek.
The sides discussed not only holding a trilateral summit but also the possibility of separate bilateral meetings.
"Xi Jinping, as the host, said that Trump would apparently come and Putin would likely come as an invited guest. And if everything works out as discussed, it would be possible to organize a meeting between the three of them or, at the very least, for each of them to meet with the others," Ushakov said.
At the same time, there is currently no information about a final agreement on a joint meeting between the three leaders. The Kremlin has only raised the possibility of such a scenario.
When will the APEC summit take place
The Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit is scheduled for November 18-19. It will be held in Shenzhen, China.
Thus, the international event could provide a venue for a potential meeting between Putin, Trump and Xi Jinping.
Earlier, US efforts to advance negotiations on ending the war in Ukraine reached an impasse.
Against this backdrop, in June, Rodney Mims Cook Jr. held secret talks with Kremlin representatives in St. Petersburg, including Putin's aide Anton Kobyakov.
