Kremlin sends Pacific Fleet troops to war against Ukraine - DIU
Moscow deploys personnel from the Pacific Fleet of the Russian Federation to the war in Ukraine, as well as the 11th Army of the Russian Armed Forces and the Airborne Assault Forces. These enemy actions are aimed at replenishing personnel following significant losses, according to the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine (DIU).
The mentioned military units of the aggressor state were not previously directly involved in hostilities against Ukraine.
"According to the decision of the commander of the Pacific Fleet of the Russian Federation, Viktor Liina, rotations to Syria are completely suspended, and all personnel are being sent to the combat zone in Ukraine. This concerns 2,000 Russian servicemen from the Primorsk and Kamchatka regions of the Russian Federation," the DIU reports.
About 400 soldiers from the units of the 11th Army of the Russian Armed Forces and the Airborne Assault Forces, stationed in the Khabarovsk Krai of the Russian Federation, will "plug the gaps" in the 155th and 40th Marine Infantry Brigades of Russia, which are engaged in combat operations against Ukraine and are understaffed due to serious losses.
"A portion of the personnel from the military units of the Russian Far East will join the new motorized rifle brigade of the aggressor state, which is being formed in Voronezh," the DIU said.
