Kremlin makes statement about Trump's upcoming conversation with Putin

The spokesperson for Russian President Vladimir Putin confirmed that US President Donald Trump and the Kremlin leader will hold a conversation on Tuesday, March 18. Meanwhile, Moscow has not disclosed any details regarding the topics of the talks, according to Reuters.
Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov confirmed in a conversation with the media that the planned conversation between Trump and Putin is scheduled for Tuesday.
"Yes, that's how it is. Such a conversation is planned for Tuesday," he said.
The day before, the US leader stated that he plans to speak with Putin on Tuesday, March 18, to discuss the Russian-Ukrainian war and the possibility of a ceasefire.
According to Trump, this decision was made after positive talks between his special representative, Steve Witkoff, and Putin in Moscow last week.
Trump also mentioned that a lot of work had been done over the weekend, and he believes Washington has a very good chance to end the war in Ukraine.
Additionally, the US president stated that during his conversation with the Russian dictator, he would talk about land and power plants, but did not reveal further details.
In response to questions about these remarks, the Kremlin stated that it does not consider it appropriate to comment on the upcoming talks between Trump and Putin.
Upcoming conversation between Trump and Putin
On the evening of the day before, US President Trump stated that he would hold talks with Putin on March 18 in the morning, Washington time (which, considering the time difference, will likely be in the afternoon on Wednesday, Kyiv time).
The conversation will take place as part of Trump's push for a possible 30-day ceasefire in the Russian-Ukrainian war theater.
It should be noted that such a ceasefire was agreed upon following the meeting in Jeddah (Saudi Arabia) on March 11 between Ukrainian and US delegations. During that meeting, the American side proposed a comprehensive 30-day ceasefire with Russia, and the official Kyiv agreed to this idea.
However, Russia has yet to provide a clear answer on whether it is ready for such a ceasefire. Previously, Putin put forward certain conditions under which this could happen.
Late on the evening of March 17, in a conversation with journalists, Trump stated that Russia would agree to a 30-day ceasefire with Ukraine.
