In Moscow, officials claimed that the so-called “special military operation” continues. The Kremlin repeated its usual line, insisting that the strikes targeted “only military sites” despite widespread destruction of residential buildings and civilian deaths, Russian Presidential Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov reports.

Speaking with Russian propagandists, Peskov denied that Russia’s overnight strike on Kyiv targeted civilians or civilian infrastructure.

According to the Presidential Press Secretary, Russian forces allegedly continue striking “exclusively military sites” and “successfully destroying targets.”

At the same time, despite the heavy damage to apartment buildings, infrastructure, and the deaths of civilians, Peskov cynically stressed that Russia “remains interested in continuing negotiations” with Ukraine.

Attack on Kyiv on August 28

Last night, Russian forces carried out a massive combined attack on Kyiv. The terrorist state targeted not only civilian sites but also diplomatic missions. In particular, the strike damaged the European Union mission building in Ukraine.

Russian missiles also hit a shopping mall in central Kyiv, damaging nearby apartment buildings.

In addition, Russian troops carried out a precision strike on an Intercity train scheduled to depart on the Kyiv-Kharkiv route today. Photos of the damaged train appeared online.
