Kremlin doubles its plans for militarization of children in occupied areas - NRC
By the end of this academic year, the enemy aims to double its plans for the militarization of children in occupied territories. This involves increasing the number of students in schools with military training programs, reports the National Resistance Center (NRC).
According to the information resource, this is primarily set to occur at the Nakhimov Naval School in the occupied city of Mariupol. Specifically, on September 2, 240 children aged 10 to 13 were moved into the military institution's barracks. By 2025, the number of such children is expected to reach 560.
The NRC emphasized that Russian authorities are actively engaging in the militarization of children. Under the guise of patriotic education, they are involving young Ukrainians in military programs, propaganda events, and camps where they are taught the basics of military skills, and weapon use, and are ideologically indoctrinated.
"This is happening across all temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine," the report states.
The information resource noted that the militarization of children is not only an attempt to cultivate future loyal military personnel but also a serious crime against childhood.
"The Russian authorities are trying to undermine the identity of Ukrainian children by raising them in a spirit of violence, hatred, and submission to military ideology," the NRC reported.
At the end of the article, the National Resistance Center urged that these crimes could be stopped by everyone and called on people to report collaborators who facilitate the recruitment of children into the war.
