The Russian Ministry of Defense cynically commented on the nighttime attack on Ukraine, claiming it targeted military-industrial complex facilities.

On the night of July 19, Russia carried out a massive missile and drone strike on Ukrainian territory.

The Russian Ministry of Defense, as usual, justified the attack by claiming it struck military-industrial complex enterprises.

According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, a "coordinated strike with precision weapons from air, land, and sea platforms" was carried out during the night, along with kamikaze drones.

The ministry claims the targets were Ukrainian enterprises that "produce components for missiles and strike drones."

The statement also asserts that "all designated targets were hit."

Russia's attack on Ukraine

On the night of July 19, Russia launched one of the most massive combined attacks on Ukrainian territory in recent months.

At least 12 regions were targeted, including Donetsk, Odesa, Dnipropetrovsk, Sumy, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson.

According to the Ukrainian Air Force, Russian forces launched 344 drones and 35 missiles of various types at Ukraine. These included ballistic Iskander-M missiles as well as cruise missiles from air and ground platforms. Ukrainian air defenses intercepted the majority of the targets — 185 drones and 23 missiles.

However, some still reached their targets.

In Odesa, a nine-story residential building caught fire following the night attack. The fire spread to the upper floors. Rescuers evacuated five people, but one woman saved from the flames later died.

The number of injured has risen to six, including a child.

In Pavlohrad, enemy rockets and drones struck a fire station, industrial facilities, and residential buildings. The head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration called the attack on the city "the most massive since the start of the full-scale war."

In Sumy region, Russian forces attacked the Shostka community with strike drones for four hours. Civilian infrastructure and residential buildings were damaged. There were no casualties, but significant destruction was recorded.
