Knife attack in Amsterdam: Ukraine's Ministry of Foreign Affairs issues statement

On Thursday, March 27, a man attacked several people with a knife in Amsterdam, and he may have Ukrainian citizenship, Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Heorhii Tykhyi, says in his post on X.
"We are aware of reports that the attacker who injured people in Amsterdam on March 27th may have Ukrainian citizenship," the statement says.
Tykhyi added that the Ukrainian Embassy in the Netherlands is in close contact with Dutch law enforcement authorities to gather additional information.
"We are seeking clarity on who this person is, how and when he came to the Netherlands. We will continue to work closely with Dutch authorities on this case," the Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine states.
On behalf of the country, Tykhyi wished the victims a speedy recovery, emphasizing that such violence has no justification.
"The perpetrator must be held accountable," the Ukrainian high-ranking official concluded.
Background
Today, NOS reported that on the evening of March 27, a man stabbed several people with a knife in Amsterdam, but the reason for the attack is unknown. As of March 28, four of the victims were still in the hospital, with two of them having sustained serious injuries.
Reports also revealed that the police had identified the man - he turned out to be a 30-year-old Ukrainian from the Donetsk region.
