US President Donald Trump called his country's tariff policy "war with the world", but immediately retracted these words. Countries that want a new trade deal, he said, "kiss my a**", CNN reports.

"I do think that the war with the world, which is not a war at all because they’re all coming here. Japan is coming here as we speak. They’re in a plane flying, lots of them. All tough negotiators," Trump said at the National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) President’s Dinner.

The American leader later added that other countries were calling him, "dying" and "kissing my a**" to make a new trade deal.

"Please, please sir, make a deal. I’ll do anything sir," he added.

Trump's tariff war

Trump recently imposed tariffs on most of the United States' largest trading partners. He later confirmed his willingness to negotiate with individual countries around the world on tariffs and make fair and beneficial deals.

According to the American leader, in order to reduce import tariffs, other countries would have to offer him something "phenomenal".
