Former heavyweight world champion Tyson Fury, who announced his retirement after his second loss to Oleksandr Usyk, made an intriguing post on social media, according to his Instagram.
What Fury wrote
Fury shared a long emotional message stating that "the king must reclaim his throne" and hinted at a comeback in 2026.
"The king must return to his thrown. There is a long & lonely road that only i can walk on, but after the long & hard battles awaits immortality! Gods fighting 1man army the battle was won over 2k years ago by a man who goes by the name of yesuar, in his holy name i march forward, 2026."
This statement immediately sparked discussions among fans and experts, as Fury had announced his retirement earlier in 2025.
Current status in the division
Fury held the WBC title for four years, which he took from Deontay Wilder in 2020. After losing to Usyk, he is left without championship belts.
Currently, the three main heavyweight titles (WBC, WBA, and IBF) are held by Oleksandr Usyk. The WBO belt belongs to Fury's compatriot, Fabio Wardley.
Possible plans for 2026
Fury's promoter, Frank Warren, has already stated that the Brit wants a trilogy fight with Usyk, calling it the only fight Tyson truly desires.
Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia, which is actively investing in boxing, is preparing major bouts for 2026. Turki al-Sheikh has already hinted at a possible matchup between Fury and Anthony Joshua.
Fury's post could signal either a return to the ring or another emotional message, which he frequently uses to provoke the boxing world.
However, the fact that he speaks of reclaiming the throne suggests a major comeback in 2026.
