King Charles shared an archival photo with his mother, captioning it very sincerely and touchingly. The picture shows the young Prince of Wales kissing the hand of his mother, Queen Elizabeth II, during a polo game.

In the photo, the monarch is still very young, while the queen looks happy and joyful, probably rejoicing in her son's sporting successes. The son showed tenderness and love to her.

Mother's Day is celebrated today in the United Kingdom, so Charles III honored the memory of his mother, who was the most important woman in the world to him and an example of a true monarch.

Charles III is currently battling illness as he is suffering from cancer. He is undergoing treatment but does not disappear from the public, thus proving that the fight for life is his meaning.
