Kim Jong Un claims North Korea developed 'powerful secret weapon'

The leader of the DPRK, Kim Jong Un, announced new achievements in the military sphere, among which is the development of a "powerful secret weapon," according to the North Korean state news agency KCNA.
According to him, North Korea has already made serious steps in the creation of new destroyers, which became the beginning of transforming the country into a maritime state. Strengthening of strategic nuclear forces and improvement of conventional weapons also continue.
Kim Jong Un said that, besides this, they had received a new, powerful secret weapon and that significant successes had been achieved in the field of defense science and research, which would make a great contribution to sharply increasing the combat potential of their army.
Regarding inter-Korean relations, the North Korean leader confirmed his unwillingness to conduct dialogue with South Korea.
He also stated, taking the opportunity, that he would like once again to clarify their position regarding relations with the Republic of Korea, saying that they had nothing to talk about with the Republic of Korea and had no common affairs with them.
He added that the two countries have already existed as separate states for decades, and still, back in 1991, both became members of the UN.
According to him, “the decision to recognize in the Republic of Korea another, most hostile state, was not sudden… it is only recognition of facts.”
Military parades and demonstrations of force of the DPRK
North Korea is known for its isolation and authoritarian regime under the leadership of Kim Jong Un. The country actively develops a nuclear program and missile technologies, demonstrating military might in response to international sanctions and political pressure.
Regular tests of ballistic missiles and nuclear systems are conducted, accompanied by propagandist statements about readiness to defend national interests.
Such demonstrations have the goal of both internal mobilization of the population and pressure on the world community, demonstrating that Pyongyang is prepared for escalation in the event of a threat.
North Korea also uses military parades and large-scale exercises to demonstrate technical achievements and the combat readiness of the army.
In August–September 2025, North Korea conducted tests of strike and reconnaissance drones with AI integration, new anti-aircraft missiles, and a solid-fuel engine.
In October, the DPRK is preparing for a large-scale military parade on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the Workers’ Party. Preparation includes the deployment of equipment and personnel on the field near the airport in Pyongyang.
And recently, Kim Jong Un announced that the DPRK will present a new policy aimed at the simultaneous development of nuclear forces and conventional armed forces.
