Kichenok exits Wimbledon - Ukraine has no players left at the tournament

Lyudmyla Kichenok was the last Ukrainian to complete her run at Wimbledon 2025.
In the round of 16 of the doubles draw, the Ukrainian and her Australian partner, Ellen Perez, lost to the Brazilian-Hungarian pair Timea Babos and Luisa Stefani.
This defeat means that Ukraine no longer has any representatives in the adult competitions of the grass-court Grand Slam.
Her journey at Wimbledon 2025
Kichenok began her Wimbledon journey with a new partner, Ellen Perez, with whom she teamed up for the grass-court season.
In the first round, they confidently defeated the Chinese duo of Yifan Xu and Zhaoxuan Yang in straight sets.
In the next round, Kichenok and Perez overcame Magda Linette of Poland and Bernarda Pera of the USA, again in two sets.
However, in the round of 16, they faced the 10th-seeded Brazilian-Hungarian duo of Luisa Stefani and Timea Babos, although Kichenok and Perez were seeded 7th.

The match lasted 1 hour and 36 minutes. The first set was evenly matched up to a score of 5:5.
After that, Kichenok and Perez lost a service game, allowing their opponents to take the lead, and Babos and Stefani closed out the set 7:5 in the next game.
In the decisive second set, Babos and Stefani made a run to lead 4:2 and ultimately won the set 6:4, sealing the match victory.
During the match, the Kichenok-Perez duo hit two aces but made six double faults.
Their opponents, Babos and Stefani, did not serve any aces, made one double fault, and converted two break points.
It's worth noting that this was only the second meeting between these pairs. At the end of June, the Ukrainian-Australian duo defeated Babos and Stefani in the semifinals of the WTA 500 tournament in Bad Homburg.

Five Ukrainian tennis players participated in the doubles draw at Wimbledon 2025. Dayana Yastremska and the duo of Nadiia Kichenok and Yuliia Starodubtseva were eliminated in the first round. Marta Kostyuk reached the second round.
In singles, Ukraine's last representatives, Dayana Yastremska and national No. 1 Elina Svitolina, exited in the third round. Marta Kostyuk was surprisingly eliminated in the first round.
Now, Ukraine has no representatives left in the adult competitions at Wimbledon. However, in the second round of the junior singles draw on July 8, 16-year-old Mykyta Bilozertsev will compete.
