Russians attacked Kharkiv on the night of February 26 using drones and missiles simultaneously. Preliminary reports indicate a direct hit on a high-rise building in the city, a gas pipeline was damaged, and there are other consequences, according to Kharkiv Mayor’s Telegram.

The attack on the city began at approximately 03:40 Kyiv time. First, the enemy launched Shahed drones, after which ballistic missiles were fired toward Kharkiv. As of 04:45, explosions were still being heard intermittently in the city.

According to the mayor’s posts, damage is currently being recorded in three city districts — Kyivskyi, Shevchenkivskyi, and Saltivskyi.

“As a result of the impact of two ballistic missiles and a group of Shahed drones on the Kyivskyi district and Shevchenkivskyi district of the city, multi-apartment residential buildings and private houses were damaged, contact power lines were cut, and a gas pipeline was damaged,” the message said.

A little later, Mayor Ihor Terekhov stated that, as of now, there is information of a direct hit on a residential high-rise building in the Shevchenkivskyi district.

In addition, there is a fire at the strike site in the Saltivskyi district. Information about casualties is currently being clarified.
