Kharkiv shaken by explosions as drones and ballistic missiles strike

On the night of May 30, an explosion was heard in Kharkiv. Prior to that, the military had warned about a high-speed target in the region, as well as drones, according to the Telegram channels Suspilne Novyny and the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The first explosion in Kharkiv was heard at around 3:02 a.m. Kyiv time. The day before, there had been warnings about a ballistic missile threat.
"Attention! Threat of ballistic missile use from the east," the alert read at 2:32 a.m.
Later, at 3:00 a.m., the Ukrainian Air Forces reported detecting a high-speed target (a missile) in the region.
Local channels had been reporting shelling of Chuhuiv over the past hour, but there were no official confirmations or details about the consequences yet. At the same time, the Ukrainian Air Forces tracked enemy drones in the area. By 3:10 a.m., a series of explosions were heard in Kharkiv.
Mayor Ihor Terekhov confirmed the city was under attack: “Kharkiv is under attack again! Explosions were heard in the city. We are clarifying the situation. Please stay in shelters,” he wrote.
The head of the Kharkiv Regional State Administration, Oleh Syniehubov, also confirmed the drone attack.
“Kharkiv is under attack by enemy UAVs. Explosions were heard in some parts of the city. Take care of yourselves and stay in safe places until further notice,” his statement said.
“A series of explosions in the city, Kharkiv, is under a massive UAV attack. Please be careful,” wrote Mayor Terekhov.
According to preliminary information, an enemy UAV strike was recorded in the Slobidskyi district of Kharkiv.
“At this moment, there are no reports of casualties. Details about the impact are being clarified,” added Syniehubov.
Update at 3:41 a.m.
A massive drone strike hit one of the municipal facilities located in the Slobidskyi district.
“According to preliminary information, there are no casualties at this time. Data on the extent of the damage is being clarified. There is a fire at the impact site,” Terekhov reported.
He added that a total of eight strikes were recorded across the district.
