On the evening of Tuesday, July 15, the Russian army launched a massive drone strike on Kharkiv. Dozens of explosions were heard in the city.

How the city was attacked

Around 11:10 p.m. Kyiv time, Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov reported a drone attack on the city. At the same time, the Air Force issued a warning about the movement of strike UAVs heading toward Kharkiv.

According to Terekhov, the Shahed drone attack on the city lasted 14 minutes. During this time, the enemy struck Kharkiv’s Kyivskyi district 16 times. Preliminary reports also indicate that Ukraine’s defense forces shot down several enemy combat drones.

At the same time, Syniehubov reported that at least 17 explosions were heard in Kharkiv over the course of 20 minutes.

Aftermath of the strike

As of 11:50 p.m., it was confirmed that the enemy targeted a civilian enterprise in Kharkiv. A fire broke out at the site of the impact.

"Most of the strikes hit a civilian enterprise in the Kyivskyi district of the city. Preliminary data suggests the enemy used Geran-2 type UAVs," Syniehubov wrote.

Casualties

At 11:45 p.m., Syniehubov reported that two people were known to have been injured as a result of the attack on Kharkiv.

"According to preliminary data, two people were injured during the massive strike on Kharkiv’s Kyivskyi district. Medical teams are providing them with all the necessary assistance," Syniehubov stated.
