Kellogg soon presents Trump with plans to end war in Ukraine: Bloomberg learns details

Donald Trump’s special envoy on Ukraine and Russia, Keith Kellogg, is preparing to present the US President options for ending the war between Russia and Ukraine. The proposal is expected to be unveiled in the coming weeks, according to Bloomberg.
According to sources cited by the publication, Keith Kellogg will gather input from officials during the Munich Security Conference in Germany, which begins on Friday, and during visits to Kyiv and other European capitals. However, Kellogg does not plan to visit Moscow on this trip.
Semafor previously reported that Kellogg has been preparing options for Trump. Bloomberg sources indicated that these efforts could lay the groundwork for direct negotiations between the US president, Russian leader Vladimir Putin, and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
Trump has stated that he is ready to speak directly with Putin to end the nearly three-year war and has previously threatened new sanctions if the Russian leader refuses to engage in talks.
Kellogg is expected to discuss with European officials their readiness to take the lead in providing deterrent forces to ensure the durability of any peace settlement. While the US is unlikely to deploy troops for such scenarios, it could offer other forms of support.
Kellogg is also expected to urge allies to increase defense spending, a demand Trump has repeatedly made. On the issue of pressure on Moscow, some European officials are advising the US to step up measures against Russia’s energy sector, including lowering the oil price cap and utilizing frozen Russian assets.
On Sunday, US President Donald Trump told reporters that he believes the US is making progress in negotiations to end the war between Russia and Ukraine. However, he declined to provide details about any discussions he may have had with Putin.
