Keep good quality: WhatsApp for iOS has new feature for sending photos and videos
WhatsApp's latest update for the iOS operating system introduces a new feature that allows users to send photos and videos in their original quality without compression, according to WABetaInfo.
The official update for WhatsApp version 23.24.73 on iOS now includes the ability to send media files in their original quality, offering an alternative to the standard method of compressing files in the popular messenger. This feature, previously spotted in testing with a small group of users last month, is now available to all iOS users, as per official changes.
The update description notes that the new feature will be rolled out over the next few weeks.
Once the feature becomes available, users can utilize it by tapping on the "+" in the chat, selecting "Document," and then choosing "Select Photo or Video." After sending, recipients can view the photos and videos by tapping on the file in WhatsApp. It's important to note that there is a 2 GB limit on files sent using this new feature.

A similar feature is currently in the testing phase for Android users since September of this year, suggesting that the update will soon be available on Android devices as well.
Previously, users of WhatsApp had employed workarounds, such as changing the file extension to PDF or DOC, to send photos and videos in full resolution. This innovation streamlines the process, providing a simpler and more convenient way to share high-quality media files.
This WhatsApp update represents a significant step towards enhancing the user experience. In the era of digital technologies, the quality of images and videos holds great importance. Now, users can share their experiences with maximum realism, ensuring a deeper appreciation of captured moments.
