Katy Perry appeared in an unusual spacesuit that was specifically designed for women, not for male astronauts. On April 14, the star will travel into space.

So, Katy, writer Lauren Sanchez, journalist Gayle King, civil rights activist Amanda Nguyen, former scientist Aisha Bowe, and director Kerianne Flynn will all go to space. On April 14 at 9:30 AM (Eastern Time), they will launch aboard Jeff Bezos' Blue Origin rocket.

Their flight will last 11 minutes, and it will be the first mission since 1963 where only women travel to space.

Special spacesuits were created just for them, now adapted for women. Previously, suits were made for men. The blue jumpsuits were designed by Fernando Garcia and Laura Kim. This caused a “wow effect,” and the internet liked the new images.

In the photo where Perry posed next to the other women in suits, you can see the details of the unique outfit. On the singer's jumpsuit, there are the inscriptions “Perry” and “Blue Origin”.

The capsule with Perry and the other women will truly enter weightlessness. They will remain in that state for four minutes. Then, the crew in the capsule will descend back to Earth with the help of three parachutes.

It will reach a maximum altitude of 100 km (62 miles) above Earth, and the women will technically enter space once the capsule crosses the Karman line, which is internationally recognized as the boundary of space. However, they will not be classified as astronauts by the Federal Aviation Administration, NASA, or the US military, which all have different requirements for individuals to become commercial astronauts, notes Sky News.
