The son of Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov, Adam, was involved in a car accident in Grozny. He is in critical condition and is being prepared for transport to Moscow for medical treatment, according to the opposition Chechen channel Niyso on Telegram.
The Telegram channel, citing sources, reports that a serious traffic accident involving high-ranking republican officials occurred in Grozny, with the city placed under lockdown. In particular, the report refers to Adam Kadyrov.
"Grozny has been sealed off, the new republican hospital is closed. All for the sake of one person who is in serious condition. He is being resuscitated and prepared for transport to Moscow," the message says.
It is noted that Kadyrov’s son’s motorcade was traveling at high speed when an obstacle appeared on the road. As a result, the vehicles collided with each other, leaving several people injured.
However, the main focus is on Adam Kadyrov, who is reportedly currently in critical condition.
Kadyrov wants to hand over power
RBC-Ukraine, citing sources, previously reported that Ramzan Kadyrov is in the hospital with kidney failure. It was noted that family members, including those from other countries, have already arrived, while the Kremlin is urgently searching for a new leader for Chechnya.
Earlier, back in May, it was reported that due to a deterioration in his health, Kadyrov was preparing a successor for the post of head of Chechnya. According to media reports, his son Adam could be a potential successor.
Ukraine’s Security Service (SBU) declared Ramzan Kadyrov wanted back in 2022. He is considered to be evading pre-trial investigation authorities and is also suspected of encroaching on Ukraine’s territorial integrity and inviolability, as well as waging an aggressive war.
