Justin Trudeau's ex breaks silence after romance rumors with Katy Perry

The ex-wife of former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, TV host Sophie Grégoire Trudeau, spoke publicly for the first time after photos of the politician with American singer Katy Perry on a yacht circulated online.
Shortly after the photos emerged, 50-year-old Sophie shared a video on social media that fans took as having a heartfelt, emotional message.
"The people, the places, and even the moments that once felt infinite—time asks us to not cling to them, and yet we do. I do, because to hold on feels safer than to let go," said the TV host.
"But love was never about possession. It was always about presence," she added.
In the caption, she included a few more lines that many interpreted as a reference to her ex-husband:
"Nothing we love is meant to be kept forever. People, places, moments—they're all meant to be lived, not possessed. The beauty is in the being there: in the shared laugh, the quiet glance, the heartbeat of a place before it changes. Connection isn't something we hold—it's something we feel while it's here. That's the real magic: presence. Let yourself love what's here, without trying to make it stay," Sophie wrote.

The post immediately sparked a wave of discussion. Some users interpreted it as a response to the photos of Justin Trudeau with Katy Perry that recently circulated in global tabloids:

On October 11, the Daily Mail published photos showing the politician and the singer spending the day on a yacht, enjoying glasses of wine.
