Johnny Depp is known not only for his film roles but also for his artwork. A major exhibition of his work in the UK recently opened in London, featuring paintings, drawings, collages, and the actor's first sculpture, according to the Instagram account of Halcyon Gallery.
What is known about Johnny Depp's exhibition
The exhibition opened on October 13 at Halcyon Gallery, located at 148 New Bond Street in London. It will be open to visitors until November 15.
The exhibition continues the international presentation of the actor's work, A Bunch of Stuff, which was previously shown at the Shanghai Museum of Contemporary Art. In London, visitors can get a closer look at Depp's artistic work, spanning several decades.
The exhibition brings together paintings, drawings, and collages. These works combine fantastical characters, psychological portraits, and images inspired by people who have played an important role in the artist's life.
The works can also be viewed on the gallery's official website.
Why Johnny Depp started painting
According to the actor, art came into his life before music and film. As a child, he drew on paper and even on walls, using creativity as a way to escape into his own world.
"Art came to me before music and film. Ever since I can remember, it's always been about putting pencil to a piece of paper or some surface. A lot of walls when I was a child. So I was always kind of trying to escape into these little drawings," - Johnny Depp said.

What paintings has Johnny Depp created?
His work explores themes of self-discovery, individuality, and people who do not fit within conventional social norms. His subjects include characters, friends, muses, and fictional figures, alongside self-portraits and artistic alter egos.
Paintings featuring roses are particularly eye-catching. For Depp, the flower has become a kind of portrait of his daughter, Lily-Rose Depp.
"Replete with symbolism, the simple rose treads a fine line between the timeless and the ephemeral, the enduring and the fragile," the gallery's description reads.
Johnny Depp's first sculpture
A centerpiece of the exhibition is The Bunnyman sculpture, which depicts a human-rabbit hybrid holding a sword of truth.
Its story is rooted in Depp's childhood memories, and the inspiration for its creation came from a drawing made by his son Jack when he was five years old.
The figure reminded the actor of a recurring childhood dream. Over time, the image began appearing in his sketches, paintings, and prints.
The sculpture was previously unveiled at the Contemporary Istanbul international art fair in Türkiye.
