The producers of the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise have begun preparations for the filming of a new movie in which Johnny Depp will return to the role of Captain Jack Sparrow, reports TheDisInsider.

According to the media, in December last year, producer Jerry Bruckheimer said that two alternative scenarios were being developed for the new part of the film, one of which did not involve Johnny Depp.

However, one source confirmed that Walt Disney Studios has decided to bring the actor back to the franchise.

At the same time, the date of the official start of production of the new movie has not yet been determined.

The media also emphasizes that there has been no official comment from Disney on Depp's return.Джонні Депп повертається до ролі Джека Горобця у нових "Піратах Карибського моря": що відомо

The actor was dropped from the movie franchise in 2018 due to a lawsuit with his ex-wife Amber Heard. More than two years ago, he announced that he would not return to the role of Captain Jack Sparrow, even if Disney offered him $300 million.

Recently, however, there have been rumors that the studio has agreed to fulfill Depp's conditions and is ready to pay him any amount.

As a reminder, Depp won the case against Heard, who accused him of domestic violence. The jury ruled that Heard should pay compensation in the amount of $ 15 million, of which $ 5 million are court costs.Джонні Депп повертається до ролі Джека Горобця у нових "Піратах Карибського моря": що відомо

Initially, Depp demanded that Heard be fined 50 million dollars. The jury found that the actress had defamed her ex by portraying him as a domestic tyrant in her column for the Washington Post.

At the same time, the jury partially supported her, awarding her $2 million in compensation.
