JD Vance says he’s ready to be US President, names key condition

US Vice President JD Vance stated that he is ready to become head of state, but only on the condition that something happens to current American leader Donald Trump, USA Today reports.
“Yes, terrible tragedies happen. But I feel very confident the President of the United States (Trump - ed.) is in good shape, is going to serve out the remainder of his term and do great things for the American people,” Vance said.
At the same time, the US Vice President expressed confidence that he has well prepared himself to perform presidential duties.
“I’ve gotten a lot of good on-the-job training over the last 200 days,” Vance noted.
Vance’s political career
JD Vance is 41 years old. Since January 2023, he has served as a US Senator from Ohio representing the Republican Party. Before the 2016 elections, Vance criticized Donald Trump but later changed his position and supported him in the 2020 elections.
Before entering politics, Vance served in the US Marine Corps, worked as a correspondent during a military operation in Iraq, and later graduated from Yale Law School.
Earlier, Trump named JD Vance as the most likely next Republican candidate for the 2028 elections.
Recently, Vance also shared how he decided to make a small joke before the meeting between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and US President Donald Trump at the White House on August 18.
