The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine appointed Ivan Vyhivsky as the head of the National Police, according to the government representative in the Verkhovna Rada Taras Melnychuk.

To note, Vyhivsky previously served as the acting head of the National Police.

What is known about Vyhivsky

He was born on March 26, 1980, in the Zhytomyr region. In 2003, he graduated from the National University of Internal Affairs with a Law degree.

Vyhivsky served in the internal affairs institutions from August 14, 1999, to November 6, 2015, and then continued his service in the police.

In 2021, he was appointed the Chief of the Kyiv National Police.

After the helicopter crashed, in which the Minister of Internal Affairs Denys Monastyrskyi and his deputy Yevgeny Yenin were killed, the government appointed the acting head of the National Police, Ihor Klymenko, as the acting Minister of Internal Affairs. He is now the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The government appointed Vyhivsky as the acting head of the National Police.
