Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani has opened the Ukraine Recovery Conference in Rome, The Guardian reports.

"We want to host this event today and tomorrow, because we believe in Ukraine… This meeting is not only an economic meeting, we want to send a clear message: Ukraine is not alone. We want to back your freedom, your independence," Tajani said.

Furthermore, Tajani went on to emphasize the importance of beginning Ukraine's recovery even during wartime, in order to support its critical infrastructure, including the stability of the power grid.

The Ukraine Recovery Conference is an international platform for discussing the priorities, strategies, and funding mechanisms for Ukraine's post-war recovery. It brings together representatives from governments, international organizations, businesses, and civil society.

Key topics include energy, infrastructure, digital transformation, reforms, support for small businesses, and ensuring transparency in the use of aid.

On July 8, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy approved the members of the Ukrainian delegation attending the Recovery Conference in Rome.
