'It’s time for it to end': Biden writes letter to Democrats about his participation in election
President of the United States Joe Biden has informed Democratic colleagues that he will stay in the presidential race in 2024, thus attempting to quell internal party rebellion against his campaign, Bloomberg reports.
Biden reportedly sent Democrats a letter against the backdrop of statements about his possible resignation.
"I am firmly committed to staying in this race, to running this race to the end, and to beating Donald Trump. The question of how to move forward has been well-aired for over a week now. And it’s time for it to end," Biden wrote in the letter.
Election in the US
In November of this year, the presidential election will take place in the United States. The main candidates currently are the incumbent President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump.
In June, they participated in debates. According to experts' assessments, Trump was declared the winner of the debates. Biden's performance was so unsuccessful that the Democratic Party was urged to change its presidential candidate.
Later, Biden admitted that his performance was poor, but stated that he has no plans to withdraw from the elections.
