'It's never the end of the road.' Trump pledges US will keep backing Ukraine

US President Donald Trump said today during a meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in the Oval Office that the United States would continue to support Ukraine regardless of the outcome of today's talks at the White House.
A reporter asked Trump: "Is this the end of the road for American support for Ukraine if today's meeting deal, or no deal?"
Trump replied: "I can never say that. It's never the end of the road. People are being killed, and we want to stop that. So I wouldn't say this is the end of the road."
Meeting in Washington
Zelenskyy arrived in Washington for talks with the backing of European leaders, including Ursula von der Leyen, Friedrich Merz, Keir Starmer, Emmanuel Macron, and NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte.
Both the reporter and Trump commented on Zelenskyy’s choice of a black suit.
"You look fabulous in that suit," said Brian Glenn of Real America's Voice, who had previously questioned Zelenskyy's outfit choice during his White House visit in February.
"I said the same thing," Trump interjected.
"You’re in the same suit," Zelenskyy told Glenn. "I changed, you didn't."
According to a European official, Zelenskyy's attire had been discussed by US and Ukrainian representatives ahead of Monday's talks with Trump, with a decision made that he would not arrive in his usual green military sweatshirt.
Trump had been displeased in February when Zelenskyy came to the White House in military attire, joking that he had "dressed up."
Trump has not ruled out the possibility of sending US troops to Ukraine to help secure a potential peace deal. "We’ll let you know about that later today," he said in the Oval Office.
He added that Europe would take the lead role in ensuring peace, but the United States would also be involved.
"They are the first line of defense, because they’re there—Europe. But we’re going to help them. And we will be involved," Trump said.
