US President Donald Trump advocates for countries to abandon nuclear weapons. According to him, he has made progress on this issue with Russia and has also discussed it with Chinese President Xi Jinping, according to a Fox News broadcast.

Trump said that a lot of progress had been made in relations with Ukraine and Russia over the past few days, and that it would be great to bring this to an end so that they no longer had to talk about nuclear weapons in that way. He added that it would be great if everyone got rid of their nuclear weapons.

He noted that the US and Russia possess the most nuclear weapons. China will only have as many in four to five years. The American president once again emphasized that it would be great to disarm, calling nuclear weapons madness. He also shared details about his progress in negotiations on this issue.

The US president stated that the power of nuclear weapons was just crazy and that he had made progress with Russia on this issue, despite the "Russia, Russia, Russia" hoax, which had not made his task easier. He called it a complete hoax, set up by some bad people. However, he mentioned that despite this, he had been very close to finding common ground with Russia on nuclear disarmament, and they were going to discuss this with China. He had talked about this with President Xi, who would be very happy to do it. The president added that bad things had happened, like the rigged elections, which was why they had to come back after four years.

Trump emphasized that he would like to start these negotiations, noting that denuclearization would be incredible.

Recently, Bloomberg reported that in February of this year, during a conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin, Trump asked him to act as a mediator in talks with Iran on issues such as the nuclear program.
