Due to the conflict with Israel, Iran is likely to abandon the promised supply of ballistic missiles to Moscow and focus on its stockpile, The Telegraph reports.

Western officials believe that Iran's war with Israel will encourage Tehran to accumulate its missile stockpile instead of the previously promised exports to Russia.

As noted in the article, Russia will be forced to develop its missile programs or rely on North Korea.

At the same time, Western sources note that support for Iran in training or supplying data for the production of attack drones may also decline. However, the problem with drones is less critical for Moscow: Russia is already creating Shahed analogs on its own.

Iran and Russia's embrace before escalation

In early 2025, Iran and Russia agreed to supply ballistic missiles for the war against Ukraine. The countries signed a defense pact and promised joint arms development.

Now Israel is attacking Iran's air defense systems, and Moscow may use these strikes to promote its S-400 air defense systems as a solution for other countries.

Intelligence support

Russian spies can be sent to Tehran to study information about Israeli F-35 operations over Iran. This allows Moscow to analyze vulnerabilities and adapt its air defense systems. However, the growing instability in the region complicates the long-term planning of joint projects.

Israel's strikes against Iran have caused significant damage to Iran's nuclear and missile programs. The United States briefly joined the attacks by bombing three nuclear centers. US President Donald Trump compared these strikes to the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

Iran and Russia are part of the so-called axis of evil, which includes North Korea and China. All these countries are hostile to Ukraine.
