An Israeli Air Force F-15 fighter jet miraculously avoided an emergency landing during a 12-day war against Iran, according to a report from Israel’s Channel 12.

During one of the airstrikes near Iranian territory, the fighter jet experienced a problem with its fuel tank, leading to a significant fuel shortage during the mission.

“The pilot, who was over Iranian territory, noticed the fuel issue and was forced to report it in real time. At this stage, unlike some previous sorties, a refueling tanker was not planned to accompany the flight. However, given the seriousness of the situation, a decision was made to conduct an unscheduled refueling,” Channel 12 reported.

At the same time, a contingency plan was developed in case the refueling tanker could not reach the malfunctioning fighter jet in time. In that scenario, the aircraft was to make an emergency landing in a neighboring country to avoid the risks associated with landing on Iranian territory.

It is noted that thanks to clear coordination, the malfunction was successfully resolved, and the attack was completed without deviating from the course.

Israel-Iran war

On June 13, Israel attacked Iranian military and nuclear sites as part of Operation Rising Lion. The IDF eliminated high-ranking military officials and nuclear physicists. Following this, both countries began exchanging attacks.

The US entered the conflict on June 22. They struck Iran’s nuclear facilities in Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan with bunker-buster bombs.

On June 24, US President Donald Trump announced that a ceasefire had come into effect.
