Israel surrounds Hamas leader's house in Gaza - Netanyahu
Israeli military forces have managed to surround the house of Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar in the southern Gaza Strip, says Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
"Last night, I said that our forces can reach anywhere in the Gaza Strip. Now they encircled Sinwar's house. His house is not his fortress, and he can escape. But it's only a matter of time before we get him," said the head of the Israeli government.
According to him, Sinwar's house is not a fortress, and the Hamas leader can still escape. However, his arrest is "a matter of time."
Netanyahu did not specify the exact location of the house in the Gaza Strip. Sinwar is originally from Khan Younis, a city in the southern part of the Gaza Strip.
Israel's war with Hamas
It's worth noting that Israel's ground operation in the Gaza Strip has been ongoing for several weeks. During this time, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have managed to take control of the northern part of the Palestinian enclave, including the largest city, Gaza.
Currently, Israeli forces are advancing south as part of their operation against terrorists.
Just yesterday, on December 5, Chief of Staff of the IDF Herzl Halevi stated that Israel is surrounding the city of Khan Younis, the second-largest populated area in the Gaza Strip.
