Israel has not yet received the list of hostages Hamas plans to release on January 19, delaying the start of the ceasefire.

This was stated by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, according to the Times of Israel.

According to the publication, Netanyahu conducted a security assessment overnight regarding the delay in receiving the list of hostages expected to be released.

"Netanyahu instructed the IDF that the ceasefire, which is scheduled to take effect at 8:30 a.m., will not begin until Israel has the list of hostages to be released, which Hamas has pledged to provide," stated the Prime Minister’s Office.

Hostage release and ceasefire: Agreement between Israel and Hamas

As reported by RBC-Ukraine, Hamas has approved an agreement with Israel regarding the release of hostages in the Gaza Strip and a ceasefire.

On January 18, the Israeli government approved the agreement signed with Hamas. On the same day, January 18, Israel was supposed to receive the names of the first three hostages to be released.

However, Israel did not receive the list within the expected timeframe. Netanyahu's office stated that Hamas is delaying the transfer of the hostages' list, which could delay the implementation of the agreement.

Later, the Israeli Prime Minister's Office announced that the release of hostages under the agreement with Hamas would proceed without delay. The first hostages are expected to be freed on January 19.

It is believed that Hamas is holding 94 hostages, with the first 33 to be released, including children, women, the elderly, and those in poor health.
