On July 26, the Israel Defense Forces resumed airdrops of humanitarian aid over Gaza, according to a statement from the Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories (COGAT).

The humanitarian aid airdrops are being carried out by the Israeli military in coordination with international humanitarian organizations, under the direction of COGAT and the Israeli Air Force.

"In accordance with directives from the political echelon and following a situational assessment held this evening, the IDF has begun a series of actions aimed at improving the humanitarian response in the Gaza Strip, and to refute the false claim of deliberate starvation in the Gaza Strip," the statement reads.

The aid being airdropped over Gaza includes seven pallets of flour, sugar, and canned goods provided by international organizations.

In addition, humanitarian corridors will be established to ensure the safe passage of UN convoys delivering food and medical supplies.

"The IDF is prepared to implement humanitarian pauses in densely populated areas and will continue to operate to dismantle terrorist infrastructure and eliminate terrorists in the areas of activity," COGAT added.

Israeli officials emphasized that there is no famine in Gaza, describing the claims as a defamation campaign by Hamas. They also stated that combat operations are ongoing.

Ceasefire negotiations in Gaza

Earlier, US President Donald Trump announced that Israel had agreed to a 60-day ceasefire in Gaza. Talks later took place in Doha, attended by US Special Envoy to the Middle East Steve Witkoff.

During those discussions, Israel and Hamas reportedly agreed on a framework for a ceasefire and the establishment of a humanitarian corridor.

Subsequently, Hamas confirmed it had delivered a response to mediators regarding the ceasefire proposal.

However, on July 25, media outlets reported that the United States was suspending the negotiations and recalling its delegation from Qatar.
