Israel and Hamas reached agreement? Witkoff heads to Doha for Gaza talks

Israel and Hamas have agreed on the framework for a ceasefire in Gaza and the establishment of a humanitarian corridor. US Special Envoy for the Middle East Steve Witkoff will travel to the region for further negotiations, according to US State Department spokesperson Tammy Bruce and The Times of Israel.
She confirmed that US Special Envoy to the Middle East Steve Witkoff is heading to the region to advance ongoing negotiations on a ceasefire in Gaza and a deal for the release of hostages held by the terrorist organization Hamas.
According to her, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio emphasized the need to establish a humanitarian corridor as part of the agreement.
Bruce noted that he had said the humanitarian situation in Gaza was the main issue they were facing.
Meanwhile, a source involved in the negotiations told Israeli journalists that mediators were still awaiting a response from Hamas to Israel’s updated proposal regarding the redeployment of IDF forces in Gaza during the proposed 60-day truce.
Trump's efforts to reach ceasefire in Gaza
Earlier, US President Donald Trump announced that Israel had agreed to a 60-day ceasefire in Gaza.
He expressed hope that Qatar and Egypt, acting as mediators, would convey the final peace proposal to the leaders of the Palestinian group.
At the same time, on July 20, the IDF announced the start of ground operations in one of the few remaining central districts of Gaza, a move not previously used in the campaign.
