Israel responds to Türkiye recalling ambassador
Israel has reacted to Türkiye's intention to recall its ambassador calling this decision "another step by the Turkish president that sides with the Hamas terrorist organization," wrote the spokesperson of the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Lior Haiat, on Twitter.
"The Turkish government's decision to recall its ambassador while the State of Israel is in the midst of a war of self-defense imposed on it by a terrorist organization worst than ISIS, is another step by the Turkish president that sides with the Hamas terrorist organization," noted Haiat.
According to him, Hamas militants have killed over 1,400 Israelis and taken 240 people hostage, including infants, children, women, and the elderly.
The spokesperson added that Hamas uses the population of the Gaza Strip as a human shield, hindering movement to safe areas by depriving them of fuel, food, and drinking water.
"Hamas commits war crimes and crimes against humanity, and is the real enemy of the Palestinian people," he added.
What preceded
Recall that yesterday evening, on November 4, it became known that Türkiye is recalling its ambassador to Israel, Şakir Özkan Torun, to Ankara for consultations.
In Türkiye, this decision was explained by the alleged continuation of Israel's "attacks on the civilian population," preventing the uninterrupted flow of humanitarian aid.
