Israeli officials expect the United States to make a decision within 48 hours on whether to join the strikes on Iran, according to The Times of Israel.

"The expectation is that they join, but no one is pushing them. They have to make their own decision," an unnamed Israeli official told the outlet.

He added that Israel could learn of the US decision within 24 to 48 hours.

The outlet's source also noted that Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz fully coordinates his threats against Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

"Katz always makes his statements according to what Netanyahu asks him to do. He's not doing it on his own," the source said.

White House statement

Earlier, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt addressed rumors about possible direct US involvement in Israeli strikes on Iran.

Leavitt cited President Trump, who promised to decide within two weeks whether the United States would intervene in the war with Iran or not.

Meanwhile, Zion Alon, leader of the Israeli political party Ha-Hazon, told RBC-Ukraine's YouTube channel that Israel will continue its military operation regardless of whether the US joins or not. According to him, Israel's goal remains the destruction of Iran's nuclear program.
