Israel eliminates Hezbollah's deputy special forces commander
Israeli forces have eliminated Mustafa Ahmad Shahadi, the deputy commander of the elite Radwan unit, citing the Israel Defense Forces (IDF).
According to the IDF, Shahadi was neutralized in the Nabatieh area as a result of a targeted strike, organized based on intelligence data.
His elimination is part of Israel's efforts to reduce Radwan's capabilities to carry out terrorist attacks against Israeli military forces and civilian areas in northern Israel.
The IDF has not disclosed further details regarding the militant's elimination.
Who Shahadi was
As reported by the IDF, Shahadi organized numerous terrorist attacks against Israel.
He was also responsible for Radwan's operations during hostilities in Syria from 2012 to 2017 and oversaw terrorist activities in southern Lebanon.
The IDF specifies that Radwan's goal is to penetrate Israeli territory and capture areas near the northern border.
Notably, on September 20, it was reported that Israeli forces successfully eliminated Ibrahim Akil, the commander of the elite Radwan forces. He was wanted by the United States for an attack on the US embassy in Beirut, among other actions.
