Israel calls up thousands of reservists ahead of expanded Gaza offensive - Media

The Israeli military has issued call-up notices for thousands of reservists to expand its offensive in Gaza, reports Reuters.
The reservists will be deployed along Israel's border with Lebanon and on the occupied West Bank. They will replace regular army soldiers who will lead a new offensive in Gaza.
However, there have been no comments from the military so far. Earlier, the office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced that he was postponing his visit to Azerbaijan, originally scheduled for May 7-11. The decision was linked to recent events in Gaza and Syria.
No new date for the visit has been announced. It was expected that Netanyahu would meet with President Ilham Aliyev.
Background

According to a source from the publication, the decision to expand the ground operation was made following a security cabinet meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Friday.
