Israel achieved almost all goals in Iran operation, ambassador says

Further escalation of the conflict would not have benefited either Iran or Israel. Iran could have suffered even greater losses, and Israel risked getting bogged down in a prolonged war, something it is not interested in, believes Israeli Ambassador to Ukraine Michael Brodsky.
"In 12 days, we achieved almost all the goals we had set for ourselves. From our point of view, there was no sense in continuing this military operation," the diplomat emphasized.
According to him, the Israeli side hopes that Iran has learned its lesson and will not pursue the development of nuclear weapons.
"That was one of the goals of our operation against Iran - to prevent it from creating nuclear weapons. We’ve managed to push back that possibility by at least a few years," Brodsky said confidently.
As the ambassador noted, according to all military experts, "Israel achieved a clear victory by carrying out a very impressive military operation."
"In just 12 days, Israel managed to inflict significant damage on Iran’s nuclear and missile program, destroy the leadership of the Iranian army, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, as well as eliminate those scientists who were working on nuclear developments and creating a nuclear bomb to destroy Israel and threaten the entire world," he added.
The 12-day war
On June 13, Israel launched an air operation against Iranian military and nuclear facilities. The campaign involved heavy drone and missile strikes — up to 12 types of weaponry were used over those 12 days.
The United States entered the war on June 22, striking Iran's nuclear facilities in Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan.
Afterward, US President Donald Trump announced a ceasefire, declaring that the war was over and hostilities would not continue.
