US troops killed ISIS external operations planner Omar Abdul Kader during a raid in Syria, reports US Central Command (CENTCOM).

As noted by Central Command, Omar Abdul Kader posed a direct threat to the United States. He was a high-ranking ISIS militant who attempted to organize an attack on the United States.

The elimination of such a militant disrupts the ability of the terrorist organization to plan and conduct new attacks that threaten Americans and US partners.

"We will not yield in our pursuit of terrorists seeking to attack the United States, our forces, or allies and partners abroad. I commend the efforts of our skilled warfighters and all who supported them during the mission," said Admiral Brad Cooper, commander of CENTCOM.

Elimination of a senior ISIS leader

On July 25, US Central Command reported that American troops carried out a raid in Syria's Aleppo Governorate.

During the operation, they managed to eliminate senior ISIS leader Dhiya' Zawba Muslih al-Hardani.

The military also eliminated two adult sons of the militant, Abdalla Ziya al-Hardani and Abdu ar-Rahman Ziya Zauba al-Hardani.
