Iris-T manufacturer announces transfer of another SLM system to Ukraine
This year, Ukraine will receive more IRIS-T SL anti-aircraft missile systems. The next system will be delivered in the coming weeks, Bild reports.
According to Bild, Helmut Rauch, the head of Diehl Defense, which produces the Iris-T SLM air defense missile systems, arrived in Kyiv together with German Vice Chancellor Robert Habek.
"Three of our systems are already in Ukraine, and more will be delivered this year. The next one will be delivered in just a few weeks," Rauch says during a conversation with journalists.
Ukraine's air defense issue
Against the backdrop of intensified Russian shelling of Ukraine's energy sector, the issue of strengthening our air defense has become more acute. This Friday, April 19, a meeting of the NATO-Ukraine Council is expected to take place, during which the above issue is expected to be discussed.
Meanwhile, the European Council in its report called for an urgent strengthening of our country's air defense and a solution to the shortage of artillery shells.
