Iranian general killed in Israeli strike on Beirut - Times of Israel
Yesterday, the Israeli army struck the Lebanese capital of Beirut, killing Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah. It has now become known that an Iranian general was killed along with him, reports The Times of Israel.
The newspaper writes that, according to Iranian media reports, Israeli strikes on Friday killed Abbas Nilforoushan, deputy commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).
“Nilforoushan was overseeing the IRGC's Operations Command, which is directly involved in various military and security operations, including the suppression of protests within Iran and military engagements abroad, notably in Syria,” Clash Report writes.
Israel's attack on Beirut
The target of the Israeli army's attack was Hassan Nasrallah, who had led the Hezbollah group for 32 years.
After the strikes, conflicting information appeared in the media. Some claimed that Nasrallah had been killed, while others wrote that he was alive. Reuters, in turn, reported that the Hezbollah leader had not been in touch since the attack. However, today the Lebanese group confirmed the death of the leader.
