During the visit, Araghchi will meet with high-ranking officials of Russia. In particular, he will discuss with Russian officials the current state of negotiations with the US, the ceasefire, and related issues.
In turn, Iran's ambassador to Russia, Kazem Jalali, announced that a meeting is expected between the head of the Iranian Foreign Ministry and Russian President Vladimir Putin.
The ambassador said that if there are any initiatives, both sides will consult and discuss them, as well as joint initiatives.
As is known, the media have repeatedly reported that Russia is sharing intelligence data with Iran, which is used to target American forces in the Middle East.
However, Donald Trump's administration denied that Russia is helping Iran, taking the Kremlin's representatives at their word.
War in the Middle East
Trump recently stated that Iran has about three days left before the country's oil infrastructure explodes.
US-Iran negotiations broke down this past weekend. At the last moment, Trump did not allow his representatives to travel to Islamabad, where the first round of talks was to take place.
The sides cannot find a compromise. Tehran says the US is setting maximalist conditions, which is why Iran also did not want to meet beforehand.
Washington's main demand regarding Iran is that Tehran abandon its nuclear program. However, Iran is not simply going to concede on this issue and demands the return of its assets frozen in several countries.
