Heir to the Iranian throne, Reza Pahlavi, has called on Iranians to seize state institutions and diplomatic missions around the world. The politician announced the start of "a new phase of the national uprising" aimed at the final removal of the Islamic regime, according to Pahlavi's statement.
Call for active action
According to the opposition leader, the past two weeks of mass demonstrations have seriously shaken the foundations of the Iranian regime. Reza Pahlavi outlined an action plan for protesters:
-
Inside the country: Seize state institutions, especially those responsible for propaganda and communications blockades.
-
Abroad: Iranians in exile should take control of embassies and consulates, replacing Islamist flags with Iran's national flag.
-
Security forces: The Crown Prince called on security personnel to side with the people and stop repression.
"Iran's freedom is near...We are not alone. International support will soon arrive," Pahlavi said, stressing that the intensification of killings of demonstrators shows the regime's fear of an inevitable end.
Protests in Iran
Anti-government protests in Iran broke out on December 28, 2025, due to the rapid depreciation of the national currency. The first to take to the streets were Tehran business owners, particularly electronics traders whose businesses critically depend on imports.
They were later joined by students and segments of the population previously considered loyal to the regime.
Authorities responded to the unrest with force, using firearms and carrying out mass arrests. Amid the escalation, Crown Prince Reza Pahlavi called on Iranians to launch nationwide strikes, stating that only a complete halt of the economy could paralyze and overthrow the current regime.
