In Iran, a deputy minister called on youth to form a human chain around the country's power plants. This came after threats by US President Donald Trump to bomb Iran's infrastructure if the country does not open the Strait of Hormuz, CNN reports.

Thus, Iran Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports Alireza Rahimi made a post on social media in which he called to join the campaign.

"I invite all youth, cultural and artistic figures, athletes, and champions to the national campaign 'Iranian Youth's Human Chain for a Bright Tomorrow,'" he wrote.

The deputy minister emphasized that on Tuesday at 14:00 local time, near power plants across the country, regardless of beliefs and views, Iranians will stand shoulder to shoulder to declare: attacks on public infrastructure are a war crime.

According to media reports, Iranian authorities have a history of violating international humanitarian law by recruiting child soldiers, including during the Iran-Iraq War of the 1980s, in which tens of thousands of children were killed.

As human rights group Amnesty International reported, at the end of last month, the country's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps appealed to volunteer citizens aged 12 and older to assist in military activities, including taking part in patrols.

Trump's threats toward Iran

Recently, Donald Trump once again called on Iran to unblock the passage of ships through the Strait of Hormuz.

He hinted that in case of refusal on Tuesday, April 7, strikes would be carried out on energy infrastructure and bridges in Iran.

According to Axios, citing sources in administration, the bombing plan is already ready, but Trump is considering the possibility of delaying strikes on the civilian and energy infrastructure of Iran to give diplomacy a chance.
