The Iranian authorities have agreed that the country will never acquire nuclear weapons. This is one of the key points of a potential deal with the US, US President Donald Trump made this statement during an interaction with journalists.
According to the American leader, Washington has already reached agreements with Tehran on roughly 15 points of a potential deal.
"They’re not going to have a nuclear weapon—that’s number one. That’s number one, two, and three. They will never have a nuclear weapon — they’ve agreed to that," Trump assured.
Separately, the president said that the US wants to remove enriched uranium from Iran.
"If this happens, it's a great start for Iran to build itself back, and it's everything that we want," he added.
Trump also noted that this would be great news for Israel and other countries in the Middle East: Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, and Bahrain.
Deal with Iran
Earlier, US President Donald Trump said that Iran "really wants to make a deal."
According to him, such a deal could be finalized within five days or even sooner.
The American leader also ordered a pause on US attacks against Iran and instructed that no strikes be carried out on the country’s energy infrastructure. He said this was possible thanks to fruitful negotiations.
