It is difficult to confidently predict the exact list of devices compatible with iOS 19, as Apple has not yet announced this update. However, several sources within the company are willing to share information.

MacRumors website, which specializes in news, rumors, and information related to Apple products reports regarding which devices will be compatible with iOS 19.

The report states that iOS 19 will be compatible with any iPhone that supports iOS 18.

Some features of iOS 19 will be unavailable on older iPhone models. If this report is accurate, it will mark the second consecutive year that Apple will not drop support for any iPhone models with the release of a major annual operating system update. iOS 18 is compatible with the same iPhone models as iOS 17.

iOS 17 dropped support for the iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, and iPhone X.

News for iPadOS 19 is slightly less pleasant: according to the report, this update will not support the iPad 7 (2019 model). Fortunately, all other iPad models compatible with iPadOS 18 will support iPadOS 19 next year.

The first betas of iOS 19 and iPadOS 19 are expected to be released in June 2025 at WWDC, with the final updates likely to come out in September. While not much is known about iOS 19 features yet, it is expected that Siri will become more talkative, similar to ChatGPT, in a later update of iOS 19.4, which will likely be released in March 2026.
