Intelligence points to new Russian strikes on Ukraine and shipping - Zelenskyy

Ukrainian intelligence has obtained information about Russia's plans for new strikes against Ukraine, including attacks targeting ships. Measures to counter those plans are now being prepared, according to President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
In addition, Ukraine has updated its list of requests from the Defense Forces regarding supplies needed from partner countries. The president said he intends to discuss these needs with allied leaders.
As previously reported, Russia significantly intensified strikes on vessels in the Black Sea and on port infrastructure in the Greater Odesa area in July.
According to the Ministry for Communities and Territories Development, at least six attacks on civilian ships were recorded last month alone, leaving 44 crew members killed or wounded.
A turning point came on July 19, when Russia attacked the Guinea-Bissau-flagged bulk carrier Golden Leo, killing nine sailors.
In late July, Russia twice attacked a civilian vessel flying the flag of Palau that was transporting nearly 2,800 tons of corn from ports in the Odesa region.
As a result of the ongoing attacks, shipping to the ports of Greater Odesa has effectively come to a halt, putting more than 60% of Ukraine's exports at risk.
