Coffee shops today are more than just places to grab a morning coffee or meet up with friends. Some turn their interiors into part of their own story: you can find yourself surrounded by vintage cameras, experience the atmosphere of old Lviv, or admire designer details inspired by Ukrainian culture.

DROP, Kovel

At the DROP coffee shop, designer Oleksandr Makhno opted for natural materials and unusual shapes. Instead of standard decor, the interior features textured wood, concrete, and metal, creating a contrast between natural elements and modern design.

One of the most striking details is the ceiling, decorated with real tree roots. Combined with oak, whose textured surfaces retain natural cracks, and custom coffee-drop light fixtures, this creates an almost sculptural space.

The interior evokes natural landscapes and traditional Ukrainian materials while reimagining them in a contemporary style.

Fixage, Lviv

This coffee shop is ideal for fans of vintage aesthetics. Fixage blends coffee culture with a museum-like atmosphere, showcasing antique cameras and artifacts from the history of photography and cinema.

Instead of typical decor, genuine museum-worthy items catch your eye while you wait for your cup, turning a simple visit into a quick journey through visual arts history. The cafe also offers a range of coffee brewing methods, allowing visitors to admire the collection while enjoying a freshly brewed cup.

Kabinet, Lviv

Books are the main feature of the interior. Shelves filled with volumes and cozy reading nooks create the atmosphere of an old-fashioned reading room.

The venue combines a coffee shop, bakery, confectionery, and reading space. It's a place to take a break in the middle of the city, order a coffee and dessert, and spend some time with a book.

Unlike coffee shops where the design revolves around eye-catching installations, Kabinet takes a different approach: the decor doesn't distract from relaxation but instead sets the mood for it.

Heisenberg Coffee, Dnipro

This coffee shop is inspired by the TV series Breaking Bad. Its interior resembles a chemistry lab, with equipment, exposed utility systems, and a glass-enclosed coffee roasting area that reinforce the theme.

One distinctive feature is a table whose design references an iconic object from the series.

Frank Café, Kyiv

This small coffee shop, covering just 19 square meters, draws inspiration from Italian coffee bars of the mid-20th century. Chrome surfaces, a glossy ceiling, neon accents, and bar stools with patterned upholstery create a retro diner atmosphere.

Lviv Coffee Mine (Lvivska Kopalnia Kavy)

Lviv Coffee Mine is an example of how an interior can become an extension of a brand's story. The concept plays on the legend that coffee is mined underground, and the space itself resembles a themed mine.

Visitors come here not only for drinks and desserts but also for the atmosphere: underground halls, unusual decor, and theatrical presentations of certain coffee drinks. They can also buy coffee and themed souvenirs.

This is an example of a venue where the decor is not just a separate decorative element but an integral part of the story.
